EUSB to EEPROM Kit
EID's universal serial bus (EUSB) to
EEPROM kit is an electronics kit
that allows you to connect your personal computer (PC) Universal
serial port to I2C-EEPROM components in a 8 pin DIP or SMT method.
The kit is based on Cypress
integrated circuit (IC), the CY7C63001.
Note:
The CY7C63001 IC is
Universal Serial Bus (USB) RISC type Micro-controller.
It conforms to USB 1.5 Mbps specification, version 1.1.
See
USB specifications at www.usb.org
for more details, or click here
to download the the CY7C63001
chip
data-sheet.
No
need for external Power supply! Just plug to your computer and
read/write information from the EEPROM.
The
kit is ideal for saving you application configurations
or password.
Please
note: EUSB wire (USB cable) is sold separately.
Kit
mounting
This
kit includes on board
pre-installed free
EUSB firmware!
Shown
above mounted in plastic enclosure (EID-1593 series).
Please
note: Plastic enclosure
is sold
separately
(for demonstration only).

Software
EEPROM
control screen shot (shown above)
Yep,
Basic FREE SOFTWARE.
Simple to use. Control EUSB-kits directly from your personal computer (PC).
Our philosophy is that
"NO
KID or SCIENTIST WILL BE LEFT BEHIND!"
Free
demo software (see above screen shots) allows you to fully
read and write 32 characters from and to the EEPROM IC. The on board
EEPROM is a I2C controlled Integrated circuit (IC).
We
implemented very minimal read, write and
read-blank-check mechanisms with this demo software:
-
Read
from EEPROM function follow by apply button, read
the first 32 characters from the EEPROM.
-
Read
from EEPROM + "Check for blank" function follow
by apply button, read the first 32 characters from
the EEPROM + indicates blank EEPROM if the EEPROM
has no information stored.
-
Write
from EEPROM function write 32 characters from the
screen text field to the EEPROM.
Click
here
to download the free demo software code for
Win98/98SE/ME/WinNT/2000/XP operating system. (Win98/SE/ME,2000,
NT or XP are trademarks of Microsoft Corp.)
Please
be advised, the demo software is provided for free,
on as-is basis, without any warranties. Run or download it on
your own risk!
All
you need to do is plug-in the kit via EUSB cable to your
PC, run the free demo software, and viola, you can read
and write form the EEPROM.

and schematic notes
1.
FREE pre-installed EUSB firmware.
2.
LEDs (option) are controlled via the following Ports and
bit-number:
P0.5
- L1 (Red LED)
P0.7
- L3 (Red LED) +5V
- LP (Red LED)
3.
I2C lines 8-pin DIN or SMT (on PCB solder side) socket controlled via the following
Ports and bit-number:
SCL
(I2C clock line) Via P1.2
- (pin 6) SDA
(I2C data line) Via P1.0
- (pin 5)
4.
I2C EEPROM physical address is 7
(seven), 111 logic. All address lines are tied to +5V.
Therefore, A0="1", A1="1" and
A2="1:" 5.
No need for external
pull-up resistors for the I2C lines in this kit! They are provided (set) internally
on-chip via our unique firmware (provided free with your
kit). The Cypress USB IC (CY7C63001) has built-in
pull-up software controlled resistors.
